A charterer, receiver or another contractual party may nominate the formal agent for a vessel call. The owner may still require an independent local representative to monitor developments, review costs and follow owner-specific matters directly.
Max Marine can act as protecting agent for that defined owner-side scope. The head agent remains responsible for the formal appointment unless the parties agree otherwise; the protecting desk provides a separate reporting and review channel to the appointing principal.
