# Marine Agency & Vessel Support for Subsea 7 on the West Nile Delta

Subsea 7 executed the subsea construction and installation for BP's West Nile Delta development, one of Egypt's largest offshore gas projects, with further work on the GFR and Atoll gas fields. Max Marine provided the full marine-agency and logistics layer across Alexandria, Damietta and Abu Qir for the installation fleet.

## Operational Context

West Nile Delta is a deep-water Mediterranean gas development operated by BP, where Subsea 7 delivered the EPCI of subsea pipelines, structures, umbilicals and risers linking offshore wells to onshore processing. The installation spread included some of the industry's most specialised construction vessels, each calling through Egyptian gateways for crews, supplies, clearances and support craft.

## Client Challenge

A deep-water construction spread cannot wait on disconnected shore-side formalities. Heavy-lift, reel-lay, dive-support and cable-lay vessels all needed attendance, clearances, crew movements, guard boats, supply runs and equipment kept moving across more than one port area, with high manpower mobilisation running at the same time.

Coordination of required project documentation with the relevant Egyptian maritime and security authorities, supporting the timely preparation of operational records and navigational notices before mobilisation

## Execution Model

The team coordinated agency, crew logistics, customs and supplies across multiple ports rather than treating each port call as an isolated job, scaling vehicles, manpower and support craft up and down with the offshore campaign.

Max Marine attended the installation fleet across Nile Delta port areas, clearing formalities, rotating crews, chartering support craft and keeping equipment, fuel and provisions flowing, so the offshore construction spread had one local marine-support workflow wherever it called.

## Results & Operational Value

Subsea 7 received coordinated marine agency and logistics support across multiple Nile Delta port areas, with port calls, clearances, crew movements and supply requirements managed by one local team.

Eight specialised construction and support vessels were attended across Abu Qir, Alexandria and Damietta.

Around 60 long-term rental vehicles ran concurrently at the peak of the campaign.

Sensitive customs close-out procedures and final settlements were completed with Egyptian authorities as vessels finished operations.
